On all the dishwashers I've owned (3 or 4) none of them have had a door lock - just a catch - the door could be opened at any time in the washing cycle - a switch detects the opened door and tells the control electronics to stop everything until it gets closed again.
It would be most unusual to route live and neutral to any switch - when the switch closed the fuse would blow.
Your switch is very probably just a two terminal low voltage interlock to show the door is closed and that the programme may begin. If it is a switch and if it has just two terminals then it will not matter how you connect them
Whatever it is that causes the house electrics to trip it's very unlikely to be the switch in the door.
I am not qualified to offer this advice - there are experts on here who know much more than I do.
I hope this helps...
Good luck...
