Mend Fiat Bravo 1.4S Car Ignition

my fiat bravo 1.4s?

my car is making a popping noise from exhaust, it has been to the garage and ignition coil, sparks plugs and HT leads have been replaced. Im still getting a lack of power and juder/miss fire through the rev range. The garage said it was a RPM sensor. The question is which sensor could it be? Its using excessive fuel!!! could it be a fuel sensor? Any help idea would be greatly recieved.

there is absolutely no point guessing on modern veh.s as it can cost a fortune and you get nowhere and I thought the garage said it was the rpm sensor or are they guessing also because it is your money they are playing with.I take it has been onto a code reader?
