Zanussi DE 6850 not working?

My dishwasher has developed a fault of when switching on the power light is on and when pressed the water inlet valve opens and lets water in, at some point the pump starts up and starts pumping out water which continues to flow in. The control panel has no lights on and no buttons make any difference to what is happening, I have fitted a new water inlet valve this makes no difference also have checked the back of the control panel PCB and found no scorch marks. Any definate pointers would be helpful.
