Mend Asko 1503 Button Stay Switch

Asko Dishwasher On/Off button won't stay in 'On' position?

Asko dishwasher 1503. I cannot get the Main on/off switch to stay down in the on position. I hold it down and the machine goes however.
I think previously the 'Time delay' switch was mistakenly played around with. HELP would be really appreciated.
