Why does my tv go off after 2 minutes?

My tv goes off every 2 minutes. Why is this?

It has a warm-up fault which is to say - as the set becomes warmer a component (or a joint) becomes unstable (stops working) - often seen in a power supply circuit. Engineers sometimes use freezer spray to cool down components a few at a time as a diagnostic aid.
