Mend LDV 2001 Van Morning Engine

dohc ldv 2l petrol / lpg? 2001?

I went to my van this morning and the engine turned over but would not start. I got the AA out and they suggested it may be an electrical problem? or immobiliser? or crank sensor?

what would anyone suggest I try first to resolve this?
