cd dvddrivers?

CD/DVD support is built-in in any version of Windows since, at least, Windows 95... It's a core functionality just like the ability to access your hard drive. In fact, it's probably the same piece of code that is used for both hard drives and CD/DVD.
It's the same for anyone using any distributions of Linux or any Mac made after 2000.

There are NO specific drivers to be downloaded.
If you can't read a CD placed inthe drive, it's usualy the CD drive, or the CD itself, that is faulty, NOT a missing driver.

If you want to burn a CD-R or DVD-R, you need a burning programm.
Do a search for CD/DVD burner software. There are several good free ones.

I believe that depends on the manufacturer of your CD/DVD drive. so if it was Hitachi for instance you need to go to their website and download and install the drivers from there
