Mend Kenmore 790.79653700 Gas Cooker Display

how to fix kenmore elite 790.79653700?

Oven comes on and heats to temp. pre ht light goes out and beep signal on to say at temp. Stays on for 3 - min then greenoven light goes off and on off and on. Only stays on if you set up temp then repeats process. NO Fault codes but display seems dim kind of goes dimmer and brighter. Have to watch to notice but it is DIMMER than normal. What to do???????

I pulled the plug reset the OCE board and the flicker went away seems like it restored default values works fine now. It is a gas oven when it reached temp the oven just kept going on and off everey 5 secs. Not normal like it was confused. Wife said we had a power surge the day it started?????????? Now I have to send parts back in a few days-----going to watch. Nice if the manual told you to try that. Only explains F codes.

I think this is what electric ovens do. They warm up untl they reach the set temperature then the thermostat switch opens and the flow of electricity ceases. The oven slowly cools down a little bit. Then the thermostat switch makes and the heating process begins again.

Anyway - this is how my oven behaves and all the other ovens that I've owned. Just one light that says, "I am warming up." if it's not on then the oven is not warming up - i.e. at - or close to - the set temperature

The dimming and brightening of the display may be due to stray light from the other indicators.

The acid test is - is it cooking OK?
