The usual way is to launch "Internet Explorer (without additional moduls)", usualy from the Start menu, Accessories, System tools.
My favorite option is to install another browser, like Firefox, Chrome or Opera and use that instead of Internet Explorer.

To SD: you just can't uninstall Internet Explorer from ANY computer running Windows without uninstalling the whole OS. Microsoft worked realy hard to make it impossible to uninstall Internet Explorer.
For the double post, maybe the first one was not visible for some time, giving the impression that some problem caused it to get lost...
To Roger: graham rachael obviously used another computer, probably one from a friend, a library or from work. It's a REALY common practice when you can't connect from your usual computer and should be totaly obvious if you are not totaly DUMB!
