Thanks too all that answered, took cover off ,made sure all wires in pir unit was connected and tight ,made sure cover was returned correctly,and switched back on my alarm at mains .
so far all is good no tamper alert on panel and no alarm. wife seems to think this is how it plays untill around an hour after reset then it activates with alarm and tamper alert.. is this usual ?
It is obvious it needs a new battery.
We knew and said this from the start; A quick review of previous threads would show 5 years is the max.
You are 3 year over without any real maintenance.

Sorry people humble lorry driver never home......
battery hasn`t been changed as far as i know could be 8+ years old. thought problem was fixed switched alarm back on at mains it powered up no problems and tamper code gone then about 6or7 hrs later damn thing activated again, is this the battery

When was it last changed?
What is the make and the numbers ON the TOP of it.
