freeview reception, multiplex 2?

I have had a grundix freeview box for about 4 years, originally connected to a 20 year old tv via an aerial lead through the video (no scart socket on the tv). We had an aerial upgrade soon after and could get all the available channels. Abour 15 months ago we bought a new tv, nothing fancy just a bog standard 21 inch crt type. Sinc then however we cannot get any channels on the multiplex 2 waveband. The aerial goes into the freeview box as before via a mains powered signal booster, before going through the video but now with scart leads. How could I get these channels on my old tv but not now? I wasn't too bothered before as I didn't watch a great deal on freeview but with analogue signals being turned off in the not too distant future I will need these channels. Can anyone help please?

many thanks Terry, I was beginning to suspect the aerial even though I had had it changed, but it is not a wideband one ( I think). I will try your other suggestion too.

Previously, your video was helping to boost the signal. Now it isn't. It sounds like you have an aerial problem. As you have only lost one Mux it may be that you need a wideband aerial. Come ananlogue switch off all will be OK because the Muxes will be probably be brought closer together in Frequency terms).

To fix your problem, route the aerial cable through the VCR like you used to. You can still use SCART for recodrding an viewing the VCR, you're just using it as a second boooster.

Alternatively have your aerial looked at by some one who knows what they're doing.
