Mend Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 8v Engine Gearbox

Vauxhall Corsa engine?

Hi everybody!!
I am about to change a 1.4 8v corsa lump on a S reg 1999. Does anyone know for sure whether the box has to come out or can I slide the input shaft out and just take the engine out??
