replacing a rope on starter wheel on briggs statton engine?

sounds like the reciol rewind spring has broken, you can get a spring from any b/s dealer ,mainly lawnmower or hire shops will help, you can fit it yourself but its a swine of a job, i would advise removal of housing useually only three bolts then take that with you. the agents will always ask you for model type and code which is stamped into that houseing anyway
