Someone did an X report on the SAM4s ER 5115 cash register and left the machine in X report mode. Then a few minutes later, he pressed no sale to open the drawer, having forgotten first to return to reg mode. Now we get E20. We read in the manual that the machine requires a cash declaration, but don't know what to do next! It beeps no matter what key we press.

You need to perform an initial clear to return to REG mode (this will not lose any of your data).
Turn key to P mode.
turn power off at wall.
Hold down SUBTOTAL while you turn power on.
Let go of SUBTOTAL when the printer runs.
Turn key back to R mode (if display shows 'closed' you will need to log on).
