Suppose the system has been running on backup for a while now, seems very strange that you didn't notice the AC fail, or did you simply ignore it?.

As Alarm has said, meter out the fuses and check for AC at the panel,

Second thoughts if fuses are intact then get someone in, for your own safety,be safe and good luck.
