fault f-05 registered on my machine. having read this page I opened the large black flexible pipe under the drum leading to the pump . sure enough it was blocked . it had a build up of hard sediment and hair . once this build up was removed the machine worked fine .

had the same problem, water wouldn't drain from drum and it said f 05, done what marsbar said to empty the filters, still didn't work so I split the motor as jimbob describes and its working fine, cheers guys, appreciated

Well, sadly we can't blame the kids for this one, lots of coins and things out of our pockets! Thank you....

Nice one mars bar, just followed your instructions and found - a sticking plaster and a plastic tie tag in the filter but the real culprit was one of my two year old daughter's hair clips jamming the pump. Life saver, I can now get a work shirt washed for the morning!

Fantastic reply to this fault - £3.53, and some loose plastic fragments from earlier paddle breakage jamming the impeller, works a treat, thanks for your replies saving me a costly call out by a service engineer

Usually a blocked filter or jammed pump. Unplug machine, pull out to access drain tube (flexible grey plastic) and lower this down to the floor over a tub or deep tray to collect the water. If theres a lot you will have to raise the pipe up to stop the flow before emptying the container. If only a little water comes out then the machine programme may be locked. Undo the white plastic panel at the rear of the machine (2 screws) and you will see a black rubber tube and pipe with attachment. This tube is the filter and it leads down to the pump which is between the drain pipe and the filter. Unscrew the two jubilee clips and unspring the plastic collar at the pump end and remove the filter. If you first turn the machine around and tip it forward to lean against a wall then you can get a plastic sink tub or tray under the machine to catch any water and gunge (there will be a lot) when removing the filter. Clean the filter and tube remembering to keep the plastic float (ball). Then remove the pump by sliding it to the left and lifting it out so you can unplug the wires (white connector). Then take off the drain pipe by unspringing the plastic clip. Clean the pump inlet and flush it through with clean water. Turn the impeller by poking a screwdriver down the inlet. Make sure it turns freely and is not jammed by a hairgrip, broken bra wire or similar such as a zip tag. Then reassemble in reverse order making sure that the spring clips on the pipes are tight. Refit the drain pipe in the outlet and test by running a rinse cycle before putting the machine back.

Pretty sure F-05 error code means that there is water in the drum when there shouldn't be. i.e. after the drain process. This is sensed by a pressure switch. So it is either a pressure switch fault, a drain filter/pump fault or a blockage/kink in the hose. I managed to fix mine with a bit of hands on detailed below:

Just got the fault on my machine today (09/11/06). Water wasn't being pumped out the machine so decided to look at the drain pump (bottom left of the back of the machine). I had to empty the water manually from the machine drum before i disconnected the pump as i didn't fancy the water going all over the kitchen floor!

I then disconnected the drain pump by removing two pipes and the electrical connection. Then split the motor from the pump housing (white bit from black bit). I found a rusty old hair clip stopping the pump impellor from rotating. Assumed this was the cause of the problem. Tested it with 240v to make sure - All ok.

Before I replaced thought i should check the drain filter which comes just before the drain pump and after the drum outlet. It's within a black rubber pipe. This is removed by undoing a large jubliee clip. On removal i found another hair clip! and £1.46 in spare change!! Really must check those pockets before those trousers go in the wash.

Anyway, so I replaced the drain filter and pump and tried it out on a short cycle. Jobs a gooden! all works fine.
