What Can it Be?

Huskvarna 142 is hard to start and when it does the RPM's are through the roof and erratic. The only way to keep it running is to increase the RPM's. It eventually stalls...it will restart, however, the cycle continues. It will not idle. I did put a carb kit assuming this to be the problem. but does the same thing. Any ideas?
