Valued opinion appreciated?

Alarm, Acorn and manno. After your opinion on the HKC panel. Have you guys come across this kit? I've always been a scantronic man but having to use HKC by my superiors I cant get on with them are they any good or am I just being biased and stuck in my ways? your opinions would be most helpful
Many thanks

I remember my first Galaxy 60 then a 512. Thought they were a bag o sh1te as used to scanny and the big Menviers.
How things changed, now can run in the menus asleep. The links are amazing, others now just catching up.
All I have heard about HKC is CHEAP and it talks.
Is it a Visonic Powermax rival :D As I know one who was pushing them and nearly went into a franchise with them over it and now they have dumped Visonic for HKC.

Maybe my judgement was right and got out of it in time!

Sorry GTS forgot about ya.
Much appreciated guys. I keep gettin sent to HKC hybrid faults and most of them are supervision fails. even had one with a hall pir in supervision fail despite being in the same room. I agree they look cheap. They just seem very user unfriendly with the menus. I guess I've been spoilt after using the Ions

Been thru them all.
My fave is Galaxy, then Menvier/Scanny.
HKC seems to think it is a little Galaxy. Time will tell. I know they are used a lot in Ireland as know a couple of guys out there, but they have different software and different rules to work to including being a licensed installer.
It still uses a text format as well as SIA and the usual.
GSM unit and remote control ( Stupid idea remote setting/unsetting). 2 serial ports and one mini (USB B).
You can easily default the panel unless it is "eng Locked" even then I think a EPROM reader would get you the gateway.

me a scanny man, cant see past em ,as i have said before we dont use cheap panels, not worth the bother guys,as you know,we stick with tried and tested, better the devil you know :-)we have tried out lots of panels on bench test ,not impressed by a lot of them you get what you pay for,the dross that people use on this site by that i mean the ops,is unbel;ivable.they trust their goods to junk well, thats up to them ,i will stick to scannys :-)

I know of two NSI Gold`s who have gone over to them. I have access to all the manuals and find them a bit different especially to what I am being told.
For instance they use a loop on the bus line rather than a radial. The detectors have to be HKC to work on the bus, but not on the expanders. So could catch some out on a take over (Bit like a ID system being seen and thinking it is DP). Customers seem to like them "talking) think Visonic Powermax. I may have the chance to play with one on a test bed soon and will report back. They have a few features and are fairly cheap from what I hear. No solid use of them I`m afraid. Hope this helped.

Hi ya Tom, I remember the old six zone but not had much to do with the intel/watch new hybrid range. You have to go where the work is mate.maybe in a few years working with that range you can form your own opinion.

I'am not knocking them and they have come a long way since 1996 where I believe a new company was established in Dublin.I can honestly say once a scantronic man always etc, etc, etc, have they moved on from that digicom SMS text yet? Lol.

And yes gts your opinion is relevant, remember matey we have freedom of speech, say what you say lol.
