belling 6060 electric cooker?

The hob fluorescent light flickers when using the top fan oven. This is not a lighting circuit fault because it behaves normally when using hob plates. Cooker was dismantled and all connections checked OK. Observed that a diode on the Halogen temp. controller was burnt out to open circuit but doesn't seem to affect cooker performance however.
