Mend DeLonghi DW67S/W Door Fixed Dishwasher

How to fix the door latch on a DeLonghi DW67S/W?

The latch wire fixed to the top of the inside of the dishwasher has come off complete with attaching bolt. I can't get the wire latch to fit back into the slot so I can screw it back on.
How do I do this?
