why wont my Toshiba 56mx195 rear projection television turn on?

it started obout three weeks ago with the right half of the screen. It was covered with a strange pattern that looked like dots, four in a row and many of them spaced evenly apart. upon closer inspection I see that its really strange colored shapes and dots, squares, exes, etc. Then I come home and nothing. However, the blue power light is blinking and the amber cooling light is blinking and I can hear the fan for the mother board running. Whats the issue ? I love and miss my screen.
