injection pump?

In the fuel system there will what they call a fuel lift pump this will either be mechancial or electric this is usually after the fuel filter it will draw fuel through the filter and deliver clean fuel to the inj pump, then onto the injectors

by sucking it out ,but some modern ones have a pump in tank.
