Mend Citroen C5 HDI Started Suddenly Smoke

my citroen c5 hdi has started juddering suddenly and has thick smoke ?

the car drives fine, but then suddenly it starts rattling and loads of thick smoke comes out of the back. the revs continue going up on their own, yet car is very sluggish while this is happening

It is attempting a dpf regen. See your other post, or try reading the car owners manual where it is explained. The manual is available to download.

Sounds as if it is running on its own sump oil.

Turbo seals might be leaking, check oil level is not too high.

Get it sorted else it'll wreck the engine.
