lcd onn tv ,just flashing stand by light but very faint?

i"v had this problem for a while now, but then it"s ok . i can leave my tv on "stand by" and it"s fine, but if i turn it off at the tv or mains switch it"s a maybe when it will come on again,the stand by just Flashes slowly and very faint?. but if you plug it in every time you go past it you could be lucky and it will pop on and work fine. But we had a power cut and sure enough it"s back to blinking faintly again,am i the only one with this problem?
