my in dashboard cassette player will not play tapes?

I have a Pioneer KEH-P4020 cassette player/AM/FM in dashboard unit. Recently, the cassette player was not playing cassettes properly. I noticed "break-ups" in the sound, missing parts of songs, backgrounds would play & not the singer's voices, etc. It was not the tapes because they play perfectly in other players. I cleaned the unit with a special cassette player cleaner cassette but now the device does NOT play AT ALL.
