How can I fix my car?

I have a ford fiesta zetec 1.6, 2001. I have a problem with the door locks. I didn't close the drivers door properly, I then locked the car from the passenger side and realised that I hadn't shut the drivers door properly, I then pushed the drivers door shut. When I tried to unlock the car this morning, it wouldn't unlock from any door. I climbed into the car through the boot and tried to open the drivers door. It wouldn't open , but the passenger side did. The lock mechanism made a continuous whirring sound whilst the door was open and when I closed it, it locked immediately. The passenger side will unlock from the outside but the drivers door won't unlock from th inside or outside. How do I solve the problem.
