Mend Siemens RDH1ORF Unit Red Light

Loss of contact between Siemens RDH1ORF remote and base unit?

The red light is continously flashing on the base unit of our Siemens RDH1ORF unit, indicating that there is loss of contact with the remote unit. Tried holding the set button for 4 seconds with no change. Have checked batteries in remote unit - OK. Any ideas?
