how can I fix my Russell Hobbs Steam Station RHST100?

Lights came on to change the anti scale cartridge, which I did, and that seems to be OK. But just after that, the base unit heating up light started coming on and staying on and there is no steam. I've taken the cartridge out again thinking it was that, but all that part seems Ok, it just won't steam any longer and this light stays on. Happened a week after the warranty ran out!
