How can I fix my 2002 ford fiesta inside door lock?

like cdc says theres a spring in the door latch that breaks, sometimes its still in bottom of door and you can put a twist on it to make a new loop and put it back on.any small light sping will make one [a box of assorted spings from aldi 2.99 as plenty in] just hook it back on wd40 working parts.between the latch and the inside handle is cable this sometimes breaks wire inside that works it giving the same problem you can buy this piece off ford.once you have got it in bits you will see which it is.to get latch out you will have to remove a black steel panel held in with two screws and stuck to door with black silicone.cut trough silicone with stanley knife till loose or you will mark door trying to get it out

think there is an inner part to the outer door handle,accessed behind the door card which has a return spring,this has a pin which seizes and is difficult to free off,this could be why your outer handle is sticking out
