Removing filter?

Our dishwasher suddenly cut out last month and tripped the rcb.
after checking for leaks and loose wires, everything seemed ok.
switched machine back on, worked ok for 2 weeks, then tripped again.
could the filter be blocked?
if so, how do you remove filter?
