I have just changed the engine in my bike and wired all back as before. The strter motor does not spin but I get a clicking/shorting sound near the baterry. Wired the strater direct to the battery and it spun ok. Any ideas?
The battery is fully charged and I have traced the clicking to a small round tube thing (I know little about bike bits). I did use jump leads to connect to the satrter direct and it spun over fine. Just seems weird it was all working good before I changed the engine over.

or the battery doesn't have enough charge to turn the engine over.

bad connection. or starter selanoid faulty. thats whats making the clicking noise.
