Laptop?Having to hold down key to to write?

If all keys are the same then only guessing it may be the keyboard settings.
go into control panel click keyboard check settings and set key response to midddle see what happens,
If one key then that needs a look at by computer shop the key may need replacing.

What key? Is that the leter key that you need to press for a prolonged time before that leter show up?

Do you have any other slow down? Something like very long boot time or unusual long to come back from sleep or hybernate or opening applications or documents takes a long time?

Without more information, it's hard to guess what's the problem.
