Hi Paul . Use a 'jumper' wire . Disconnect the wires, ( first note which ones go where ... ) , from both prism and receiver , use the jumper to complete the circuit , ( you might need 2 jumpers , depends ... ) , and push your button/remote , it should go up and down fine . NOTE ! THIS IS ELIMINATING AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE ! You should replace the units if this test solves the problem .
