Mend Roller Garage Door

roller shutter garage door?

Hi my roller shutter garage door will not open it has a infer red send and revice which usess a milti prism reflecter that if the beam is broken it will not operate this you can tell by a flashing light on the reciver. sometimes in the pass the prism gets dusty with a clean this gets over the problem this has not worked this time could this mean that the send/recive unit is u s and how could i find out .

Hi Paul . Use a 'jumper' wire . Disconnect the wires, ( first note which ones go where ... ) , from both prism and receiver , use the jumper to complete the circuit , ( you might need 2 jumpers , depends ... ) , and push your button/remote , it should go up and down fine . NOTE ! THIS IS ELIMINATING AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE ! You should replace the units if this test solves the problem .
