Mend Kenmore 116.56512690 Vacuum Repair Belt

How can I fix my vaccuum cleaner(Model 116. 56512690; Serial No. DG2194188)?

I need to replace my belt(belt no. 20-5285) to my Kenmore Power-Mate 2 Motor System-Rug/Bare Floor(Model 116. 56512690; Serial No. DG2194188). How can I get the unit open? I have already unsuccesfelly attempted to open it using the directions on the unit? How can I go about getting it open now?

1) Pop off the light cover by pressing in on the two sides and lifting.
2) Remove the two visible screws
3) Turn it over, bottom-up, and use a flathead screw driver on each side to unclip the plastic clips
4) The bottom should separate from the top with little fuss, and the belt replacement should be easy to figure out from this point.

the owners manual should get you into the machine. however sometimes a screw is hidden under a sticker. vacuum makers make them hard to open so you take them to a repair shop to get fixed and you get ripped off. i would know, i used to fix them.
