How to replace thermocouple on Smeg gas-hob?

Hi
How do you gain access to the inside of the Smeg SRV564X gas-hob in order to replace a thermocouple?
From the top? Do I have to remove the whole hob from it's place?
I got the parts (online) and as an engineer feel comfortable with complicated proceedure.
