maybe one of the small fuses have popped, can you check these. Do you have LED's illuminated, if not their is no power to main circuit. The 9448 is quite a basic panel and assuming no major damage has been inflicted to it, the problem is perhaps something quite simple. If the sounder keeps going when powered up, and the user code will not silence it, it may be a tamper fault, this means that a detector or other contact has a wire out in the tamper circuit. Each device including the panel, has an 'anti-tamper' circuit, so when you remove a cover the system will go into an alarm condition (assuming that this circuit is connected) and will restore once cover is put back and user code is entered (and also assuming that all wires in this circuit are intact)
