kelvinator impression series 500?

Remove the cracked pieces of plastic on the door...so it creates a pocket. Leave the plastic bush on the pivot in place. slightly open the door and prop it up to the correct height. Get some metal fill auto repair filler and mix up to instructions and fill the pocket . leave to set a good hour or so...Will go as hard as steel. I did mine with it and it worked. I did this after I posted the first comment as I had a brainwave

Throw the piece of junk away and get a new one. Mine did the same thing and I will never buy that brand again
