Mend Buderus 500 Heating Thermostat Central

Why does it o work?

I have a buderus 500 boiler ,with a thermostat what im Able to take from room to room the boiler in the garage,the sensor for the remote on the boiler has a red light on it should be green it keeps going from red to green I have no central heating but have hot water iv put ne batteries in the thermostat ....help please
