Mend Rover 220 sdi Engine Fault

rover 220 sdi emmission fault?

I can i solve a issue with my 220 sdi, i have a red engine light that stays on when the engine is running and also i have lost the rev counter at the same time. this problem clears for a few minutes on a run back comes back. could it be the o2 sensor or could some body no the fault etc any help would be good cheers.
