hotpoint wd51 won't spin properly or drain?

It sounds like the drain pump is not working. I suggest you replace the pump. I had a similar problem on a hotpoint AQXXL129P1. I managed to fix the pump. I found the impeller was loose on the spindle. I disassembled the pump and put the magnet rotor in a workmate vice. I levered of the impeller and discovered a small o-ring on the hub onto which the plastic impeller fitted. I replaced the o-ring and it works again. The design seems as though it is designed to fail - ridiculous.
