Can I fix the motor in my Russell Hobbs Marco Pierre White chopper?

The motor in My Marco Pierre White chopper from Russell Hobbs is making whistling noises and not turning the blade when you engage it? What does this mean and can it be fixed?

Hi Katie,

I have the same problem. Mine is out of warranty and is only worth about 20 quid so I may try to dismantle it myself. I have emailed Russell Hobbs for an answer but I'm not confident, as they want money to repair it.
Sorry but I think you need to chuck it in the bin and buy a new one.
ps. I broke mine trying to process hard chocolate
