Renault scenic leak?

We've a 2003 model and they've just found out that there is a plug missing from behind the plastic in the forward wheel well. The area filled with water / sand from the heavy rain last fall and filled up this area to the point that water / sand began to run directly into the cavity under the door and into the inside of the car...... I've spoken to the shop the dealership sent the car to, they assured me the plug was missing....

check the drain pipes from the sunroofs - they can be kinked and then the water runs down the roof lining and into the footwell or the boot.

I had a leak at the windshiled seating on our scenic 2000.
filled the passages foot room with 3 cm water after one rain.
check for leaks with soapy water - it gets in everywhere....
had it sealed at the shop - cost me 400 eur.
