electric clock on cambridge double oven?

The clock is lit up, but when I push the buttons nothing happens. I cannot also switch it from auto to manual. We have taken out the buttons and cleaned out the holes, but to no effect. As the clock does not work, the ovens do not work. We just have the gas from the hobs.
