Correct set up for balance spring on "up and over" garage doors?
The balance spring on my garage door (possibly cardale) has come undone. I can see how to re-tension it but don't know how much tension to put on it. Another problem is that one of the grub screws has stripped the thread in the end fitting on the spring. my intention is to drill and tap another pair of holes at 90 degrees to the original. Any thoughts?
