Westwood T1200 ride on mower?

I have renewed the drive belt on my T1200 and it did not last more than a season. I have now bought a Kevla belt which they say lasts longer. Can anyone show the correct way to fit a T1200 drive belt.
Thank you.

Depends on how old it is, and how much room you have! Simplest way - drop deck off, and remove PGC or other accessory if fitted. Physically stand the tractor on it's rear end and prop it there. It's just about possible to do this on your own. but MUCH easier (not to mention safer) to have help. Engage & lock parking brake (which will release tension on the belt). Now depending on the age of the tractor, you MAY have to remove the PTO drive pulley at the rear to allow the belt to be removed. Work it off the transaxle pulley, then off the engine pulley, removing/moving any belt guides that are obstructing it. Dis-engage the belt from the clutch mechanism - you may have to remove it. Takes about an hour to do the job.

Kevlar belts WILL last longer, but a standard belt should be good for years - sometimes they outlast the transmission! If ours has shredded a belt in 1 season, you need to find out why.
