Should a heat exchanger only be removed by an engineer of can it be done by DIY

iam assuming that you need to replace the exchanger due to a leak .I would suggest getting a gas safe engineer to undertake this sort of repair .this will be expensive the exchanger alone will be costly as this is refered to as the heart of the boiler.depending on the boilers age it maybe better to condem and fit new.
