My Ryobi whipper snipper head is not turning?

I have a Ryobi 3043A wipper snipper. The motor starts all ok but the head where the cutting cord is does not turn. I have been told that it could be the drive that has broken, but it sounds like it is turning inside the outer tube. could it be a drive pin in the head that is broken and if so how do you replace the pin. Are there any speacial tools you need to carry out these repairs.
