How to replace the heating element on my washing machine?

The heating element will be at the bottom of the drum nomally access is through the rear panel. You will see a brown, blue,and yellow/green wire going to it and possibly another wire going to a sensor. Most of the wires will be onto spade type terminals and are easy to slide off. Then undo the securing nut/nuts and gently pull the element out. (It may be quite tight as there is a rubber seal) Some elements are fitted to the front of the drum and access is more difficult. Remember when fitting the new one that there is a guide bracket inside the drum which stops the element touching the drum. Make sure the element slides into this to ensure correct positioning.
