Mend Sony CD6000 Player Running Time

what is wrong with mt cd6000 cd/radio player?

problem. after about an hour running time, the fm content crackles, then fades to nothing. am/lw/cd all work normally.
take radio out leave for say a week pop it back and it works for a week before problem stars again. help... please
