How can I repair my Husqvarna 141 chain saw?

My Husqvarna 141 chain saw starts and idles fine but will not accelerate to cutting speed. It bogs down when given gas. Fuel filter is clean, spark plug is clean and gapped correctly, and chain brake is off, so I assume it is the carburator. If so, What is the adjustment procedure? The saw ran fine the last time I used it two months ago.

OK , now I know the answer. Both forearms, my neck back and shoulders are sore from starting my Husky 61 over a thousand times in the last 3 days. I had spark, I know how to adjust a carb, I had fuel, and the filter was fine, and I had good compression (the old thumb over the spark plug hole trick). It idled perfect. I tore apart this and that, dumped the fuel and put in new... ... ...

Then I read about the spark arrestor. Essentially I took out 1 screw on the side of the muffler, slid the screen out from behind a shield, cleaned the screen with a wire brush, put it back in and fired that sucker up (Total estimated time 5 minutes). Runs like new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Hint: this screen is pretty much the only way out for air exiting the muffler, so look there).

David,

I don't know why either. I loaned mine to a friend and it went from perfect to this. I can tell you, don't bother messing with the "L" low carb setting. Both L and H are to be set at 1 turn from all the way in on a husky as a starting point. Finer points:

These adjustments did not get mine running.
